Metering Technicians

 JOB PURPOSE 

The role is responsible for Day to Day activities of Flow Meters Calibrations. Provers Calibration and the Repair / Service of different kinds of flow meters onsite and inhouse and making any necessary adjustments in order to ensure successful completion. In terms of reporting and responsibilities.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES & OBJECTIVES

• Ensure that all existing and new flow meter instruments are correctly calibrated, in line with company and manufacturing procedures, and in top operational condition.

• Calibration of the Flow meters such as PD, Turbine, Electromagnetic, Coriolis and Ultrasonic Flow meters.

• Calibration of the Tank Provers and Test Measures using Water Draw Method and Gravimetric Method.

• Calibration of the Pipe Provers using Water Draw Method.

• Calibration of the Pipe Provers using Master Meter Method.

• Maintenance and the troubleshooting of most types of the flow meters.

• Maintenance and the troubleshooting of Pipe Provers.

• Maintenance and the troubleshooting of Compact Provers

• Develop, plan and implement the Preventative and the Corrective Maintenance of the Master Instruments and Equipment

• Reports / Certificates generation for various kinds of Flow Meters Inhouse and Site

• Reports / Certificates generation for Tank Provers, Pipe Provers and Compact Provers

• Planning of future expansion activities in the Metering Section

• Should be able to perform Calibration / Validation/ Loop checking  of  different instruments

• Perform Installation and Commissioning of field instruments,various mechanical, electrical, electronic equipment,temperature, pressure calibrators, mechanical air flow, analytical & laboratory instruments and flow meters

• Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults

• controlling maintenance tools, site store and equipment

• Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs

3. OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Report on regular basis to HOD/  Project Manager 

• Attend Weekly/Monthly meeting HODs and Management Representatives 

• Arrangement of required Technical Manpower as per the project requirement.

• Support Sales team for Business in Off Season / Ensure execution of extra activities such as cleaning, painting & enhancement of facility.

4. OBJECTIVES AND RELATED JOB RESULTS (NUMERICAL DATA) 

• Completion of Project/ Tasks  as per Client Deadlines 

• Submission of Reports and Certificates upon completion of each Tasks  on timely basis

• Arrangement of Technical Manpower as per the project requirement on timely basis  

• Quantified business results (QBRs)

Time allocation: 

• o 70% on contacting and executing service activities to external clients 
• o 20% on technical support and training 
• o 10% on follow-us and reports
  

5. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE/ TRAINING/ QUALIFICATIONS 

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma  in Mechanical/Instrumentation and Control/ Electrical/ Electronics  Engineering. 

• 3+ years of experience as an Metering Engineer for Power/ Oil and Gas /industrial water treatment applications (O&G or heavy industry is preferred). 

• Solid understanding of calibration tools, procedures

• Proven track record in validation of fiscal and non fiscal instruments, flow meter proving, and calibration/stroke check of flow meters, fiscal instruments

• Solid understanding of metering systems, fiscal instruments, Custody transfer, provers, metering analyzer software and metering calculation standards

• Attention to Detail and Quality

• Familiar to hazardous area classification and consequent reports 

• Familiar with the Engineering Standards 

• Carries out projects from start to finish.

• Equipment Guarding (Assets List, Inventories - Repair, New Accusations - Recommendations)

• HSE Compliance for Staff • Documentation for Work Orders • Tools Certifications 

• Capable of executing the projects with a team.
