Instrument Lab Technicians

Job Summary:

The Instrument Lab Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting medical laboratory instruments and diagnostic equipment used for clinical testing and laboratory analysis. The role supports accurate laboratory operations and ensures all equipment functions according to healthcare quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor medical laboratory instruments and analyzers.
• Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
• Ensure proper functioning of hematology, biochemistry, immunology, and microbiology analyzers.
• Maintain instrument performance records and maintenance logs.
• Assist laboratory staff in diagnostic testing procedures.
• Coordinate equipment servicing and repairs with vendors or biomedical teams.
• Monitor reagent levels, consumables, and laboratory supplies.
• Follow laboratory SOPs, quality assurance, and infection control procedures.
• Ensure compliance with CAP, ISO, JCI, and healthcare laboratory standards.
• Support installation, validation, and commissioning of new laboratory equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions and technical issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean and safe laboratory working environment.

Qualification Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Clinical Laboratory Science
  • Instrumentation Technology
• Experience in medical laboratory equipment handling or maintenance preferred.
