Instrumentation and Control Technicians (Oil and Gas)

Job Purpose :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Instrumentation Technician to join our team for maintenance and shutdown activities in the Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in instrumentation systems, calibration, troubleshooting, and commissioning, with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Report directly to the Instrument Foreman and execute assigned tasks as per the maintenance schedule.
• Perform shutdown and routine maintenance activities on instrumentation systems within Oil & Gas facilities.
• Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and calibrate a wide range of field instruments, including:
  • Sensors and Transmitters
  • DCS (Distributed Control Systems), PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), and ESD systems
  • Thermocouples, RTDs, Flow Meters, and Gas Detectors
• Carry out complete servicing, testing, and calibration of control valves and actuators in workshop and field environments.
• Execute loop checking, commissioning, and functional testing of transmitters, control valves, and on/off valves.
• Interpret and work from technical documents such as:
  • Instrument control schematics
  • Wiring diagrams
  • Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
  • Equipment drawings and parts lists for fault diagnosis
• Support the instrumentation team in all maintenance-related activities and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures at all times.
• Adhere strictly to Permit to Work (PTW) systems, including Hot Work and Cold Work permits.
• Maintain accurate records using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Diploma or Technical Certification in Instrumentation, Electrical, or related field.
• Proven experience in instrumentation maintenance within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Prior experience in shutdown/turnaround projects is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation systems and control processes.
• Familiarity with CMMS tools and maintenance reporting systems.
• Good command of the English language (spoken and written).
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment under strict deadlines.

Working Conditions:

• Work Schedule: 7 days per week
• Shift Timing:
  • Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Work Environment: Industrial Oil & Gas facilities, including shutdown and maintenance sites
