We are seeking a skilled and proactive Workshop Supervisor – Valve Repair to lead the execution of valve repair and testing operations within an industrial workshop environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial valve overhauls and the ability to manage a team of technicians. You will oversee the repair process, ensure quality control, maintain safety compliance, and coordinate workflow to meet production and project deadlines.
Supervise the complete overhaul of industrial valves including control, isolation, safety relief, and pressure valves (gate, globe, butterfly, ball, etc.).
Oversee disassembly, inspection, cleaning, lapping, machining, reassembly, and hydrostatic or pneumatic testing of valves.
Review valve condition reports and determine appropriate repair scopes in collaboration with engineers or clients.
Assign daily repair tasks to technicians and fitters; monitor progress and quality.
Ensure proper calibration and usage of tools, test benches, and lifting equipment.
Manage valve tagging, storage, and documentation from receipt to dispatch.
Enforce workshop safety protocols including LOTO, safe lifting, pressure testing, and confined space rules.
Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and periodic safety audits.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME Section VIII, API 598, API 6D, API 570).
Review and approve valve inspection reports, repair checklists, and test certificates.
Maintain accurate valve service records and update CMMS or tracking systems.
Liaise with QA/QC for third-party inspections or customer approvals when required.
Monitor stock levels of spares, seals, gaskets, and critical repair materials.
Coordinate with procurement to avoid delays in repair work due to material shortages.
Track usage of consumables and workshop productivity KPIs.

Education:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance Technology
Experience:
4–7 years of valve maintenance or mechanical workshop experience
At least 2 years in a supervisory role within an industrial workshop
Technical Skills:
Proficient in repair and testing of control, safety, and isolation valves
Ability to read P&IDs, valve datasheets, and OEM manuals
Familiarity with pressure testing equipment, portable lapping tools, and machining processes
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination abilities
Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
Capable of prioritizing tasks and solving technical issues under pressure
