Job Title: Workshop Supervisor 

Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Workshop Supervisor to assist in managing day-to-day operations within our mechanical workshop. This role is ideal for candidates at the early stages of their supervisory career who have strong technical skills, a hands-on approach, and a passion for mechanical systems and workshop processes. You will support senior supervisors, coordinate with technicians, and ensure work is carried out efficiently, safely, and in line with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Workshop Operations Support

  • Assist in overseeing daily operations of the workshop including repair, assembly, and maintenance activities.

  • Monitor task assignments and provide basic supervision to technicians and fitters.

  • Ensure tools, materials, and equipment are available and properly maintained.

Job Execution & Quality Control

  • Support inspection and testing of mechanical components including valves, pumps, and rotating equipment.

  • Verify that work is completed in accordance with technical drawings, SOPs, and safety protocols.

  • Identify and report quality issues or non-conformances to senior staff.

Safety & Housekeeping

  • Enforce basic safety protocols and ensure the use of appropriate PPE.

  • Keep the workshop clean, organized, and compliant with HSE regulations.

  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety drills.

Documentation & Inventory Support

  • Assist in maintaining job records, equipment logs, and maintenance history.

  • Support inventory tracking and request replenishment of spares or consumables when needed.

  • Help with documentation for inspections and client reporting.

Team Collaboration

  • Work under the direction of senior supervisors and workshop managers.

  • Coordinate with procurement and QA/QC for timely execution of jobs.

  • Communicate task progress and issues clearly and promptly.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

  • Diploma or technical certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a mechanical workshop or maintenance environment.

  • Exposure to valve servicing, mechanical assembly, or rotating equipment is a plus.

Skills:

  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting and inspection skills.

  • Familiarity with workshop tools, equipment, and mechanical drawings.

  • Good organizational and communication abilities.

  • Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Basic HSE training (e.g., OSHA 10 or equivalent)

  • Forklift or overhead crane operation certification (if applicable)

  • Any relevant OEM or technical training is an advantage
