We are looking for a skilled Mid-Level Welding Technician / Welder with valid AWS certification (e.g., AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.6, etc.) to perform precision welding operations on fabricated metal components. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting welding drawings, executing welds to specification, and ensuring weld quality meets code and customer requirements.
Perform high-quality MIG, TIG, and/or SMAW welding based on material type and WPS.
Ensure correct heat input, bead consistency, and penetration depth per job specs.
Apply knowledge of position welding (1G–6G) and joint types.
Read and interpret fabrication/welding drawings, weld symbols, and WPS documents.
Set up weldments based on blueprint and job card instructions.
Independently prepare, fit, and align parts using jigs, fixtures, or manual positioning.
Ensure dimensional accuracy and joint cleanliness prior to welding.
Perform visual inspection of welds for defects like porosity, cracks, undercut, etc.
Rectify minor defects and escalate major quality issues to supervisors or QC teams.
Follow all safety protocols, especially while handling gases, electrodes, and arc equipment.
Maintain welding equipment, cables, and torches in good working condition.
Execute assigned welding jobs as per project schedule and quality standards.
Collaborate with QC inspectors during in-process and final inspections.
Participate in welder qualification tests, periodic re-certifications, and audits.
Support junior welders and share knowledge on techniques and standards.
Maintain logs or records of weld output, time, and consumable usage if required.
ITI / Diploma in Welding, Fabrication Technology, or Mechanical.
3–5 years of hands-on welding experience in fabrication, piping, or structural work.
Valid AWS Certification (e.g., D1.1, D1.2, D1.6) or equivalent international certification.
Strong understanding of welding codes, procedures, and safety regulations.
Experience with mild steel, stainless steel, or aluminum welding.
Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) basics and weld acceptance criteria.
Ability to weld in different positions and complex joint configurations.
Experience working in ISO 9001 or ASME-compliant fabrication environments.
