We are looking for a Junior Welding Technician / Welder, preferably AWS Certified (e.g., D1.1, D1.2), to perform basic welding operations for sheet metal and structural components. The candidate will support production teams by preparing, aligning, and welding parts using appropriate welding techniques while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Perform MIG, TIG, or SMAW welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum components.
Follow basic WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) and work instructions.
Assist in component fit-up, tack welding, and ensuring joint alignment as per drawings.
Clean, grind, and prepare surfaces before and after welding.
Understand simple fabrication and welding drawings, symbols, and weld callouts.
Use measuring tools (scale, square, angle gauge) to assist in layout and dimension verification.
Follow proper PPE protocols, fire prevention measures, and welding safety practices.
Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipment.
Inspect basic weld quality: check for porosity, undercut, bead size, and penetration.
Support rework and corrections under supervision of a senior welder or inspector.
Execute welding jobs as per production schedule and WPS.
Assist in handling and positioning of parts for welding and post-weld operations.
Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors and engineers.
Participate in toolbox talks, safety drills, and basic quality training sessions.
ITI / Trade Certificate in Welding or Fabrication.
0–2 years of experience in welding and fabrication (freshers with AWS certification welcome).
AWS D1.1 / equivalent certification (preferred but not mandatory for all candidates).
Basic understanding of fabrication drawings and welding practices.
Exposure to MIG / TIG / Stick welding in a shop or field environment.
Ability to operate basic tools like grinders, clamps, fixtures, and measuring instruments.
Willingness to learn and follow structured welding procedures and standards.
