We are looking for an experienced Senior Welding Technician to lead and execute complex welding tasks, support process optimization, and mentor junior technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in MIG, TIG, and Spot Welding on a variety of materials and geometries, along with a solid understanding of welding procedures, inspection techniques, and quality standards. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and reliability of welded components for both production and prototype applications.
Perform high-precision MIG, TIG, and Spot Welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and structural materials.
Lead complex welding jobs involving positional welding, thin-gauge sheets, and high-strength materials.
Interpret and apply WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., AWS, ISO).
Conduct weld inspections and assist with root cause analysis of defects (cracks, porosity, lack of fusion, etc.).
Support internal audits and third-party inspections.
Identify opportunities for process improvement in welding efficiency, consumable usage, and defect reduction.
Collaborate with engineering to test new welding procedures and techniques.
Train, guide, and supervise junior welding technicians and ensure proper adherence to best practices.
Provide feedback on performance and assist in skill development programs.
Maintain accurate records of weld parameters, inspection results, rework logs, and process deviations.
Assist in developing standard work instructions and SOPs for welding operations.
ITI / Diploma in Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
6+ years of experience in hands-on welding, preferably in fabrication, structural assembly, or sheet metal manufacturing.
Certification in welding (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX) is preferred.
Strong understanding of welding codes, standards, inspection techniques, and safety protocols.
Familiarity with NDT (Dye Penetrant, Ultrasonic Testing) is a plus.
