The Junior Welding Supervisor – Food Grade TIG/MIG supports the supervision of welding activities focused on stainless steel and other food-grade materials in a sanitary fabrication environment. Reporting to senior supervisors, this role assists in coordinating welders, ensuring compliance with food safety welding standards (3-A, FDA), and maintaining high-quality welding practices. This is an entry-level supervisory position aimed at developing leadership skills in food-grade welding operations.
Assist in supervising TIG and MIG welding activities for stainless steel and other sanitary equipment fabrication.
Support scheduling and allocation of welding tasks to meet production deadlines.
Monitor weld quality, ensuring adherence to food-grade standards and welding procedures.
Assist in conducting welding inspections and coordinate rework or repairs as needed.
Promote safe work practices and enforce safety protocols in the welding shop.
Support training and mentoring of welders on food-grade welding techniques and standards.
Maintain welding equipment, consumables, and work areas in good condition.
Communicate with senior supervisors and cross-functional teams to resolve welding-related issues.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Vocational or technical training in welding preferred
1-3 years experience in TIG/MIG welding, preferably in stainless steel or food-grade fabrication
Some exposure to supervisory or lead welding roles is advantageous
Basic knowledge of TIG and MIG welding techniques for stainless steel
Familiarity with sanitary welding standards (3-A, FDA) preferred
Good communication and team coordination skills
Strong attention to detail and safety focus
Eagerness to learn supervisory and quality assurance practices
