We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Senior Welding Operations Supervisor to lead and manage welding teams, optimize welding processes, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. This role requires extensive knowledge of welding technologies (MIG, TIG, Spot), codes, and inspection methods, along with proven experience in managing teams and driving continuous improvement in a high-volume or high-precision fabrication environment.
Oversee and lead all welding operations across shifts, including planning, execution, and quality control.
Ensure strict adherence to WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) and applicable industry codes.
Manage scheduling, manpower deployment, and welding equipment readiness.
Interpret complex fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and GD&T.
Support process troubleshooting, defect prevention, and real-time resolution of welding issues.
Optimize welding parameters and recommend automation or tool improvements as needed.
Monitor weld quality through visual inspections and coordinate NDT (UT, RT, PT, etc.) as required.
Ensure weld logs, traceability records, WPS documentation, and repair history are maintained.
Lead root cause analysis for weld defects and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Enforce strict compliance with safety standards, PPE usage, and handling of welding gases and equipment.
Develop and conduct training programs for welders on process improvements and code compliance.
Promote a safety-first culture with zero-tolerance for unsafe practices.
Interface with engineering, QA/QC, planning, and fabrication teams to ensure smooth workflow.
Participate in production planning, project reviews, and audit readiness activities.
Provide technical feedback during design reviews related to weldability and fabrication constraints.
Lead initiatives for cycle time reduction, consumable cost control, and welding automation.
Mentor and evaluate junior supervisors, welders, and support staff.
Support implementation of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement projects.
Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Fabrication Engineering.
8+ years of hands-on welding experience, with at least 3–4 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
In-depth knowledge of MIG, TIG, and Spot welding processes, metallurgy, and weld defects.
Proficiency in interpreting complex drawings, WPSs, and international welding standards (AWS, ASME, ISO).
Strong leadership, planning, and cross-functional coordination skills.
Familiarity with ERP systems and digital tools for production and quality tracking.
