We are seeking a competent and organized Mid-Level Welding Operations Supervisor to oversee and coordinate welding operations in a fabrication or manufacturing environment. The role involves managing welding teams, ensuring compliance with WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications), maintaining high safety and quality standards, and coordinating with related departments for smooth workflow. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, team management capabilities, and a working knowledge of welding codes and inspection requirements.
Manage day-to-day welding activities, including MIG, TIG, and Spot welding processes.
Assign tasks, monitor welder performance, and ensure adherence to welding procedures.
Ensure availability and proper setup of welding tools, fixtures, and consumables.
Review and interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and WPSs.
Guide welders on correct techniques, joint preparation, and defect prevention.
Resolve technical issues during welding operations and coordinate for rework if needed.
Oversee visual inspections and in-process weld checks.
Coordinate with quality control for NDT, dimensional inspection, and weld certification.
Ensure weld logs, traceability records, and repair documentation are maintained accurately.
Enforce proper use of PPE and ensure compliance with welding safety protocols.
Monitor gas handling, ventilation, and welding fume extraction systems.
Report safety incidents and implement corrective actions where required.
Liaise with fabrication, assembly, and quality departments to maintain workflow.
Track job completion and report on welding progress, manpower utilization, and consumable usage.
Support planning for upcoming welding projects based on workload and resource availability.
Diploma or Degree in Welding Technology, Mechanical, or Fabrication Engineering.
4–6 years of experience in welding operations with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of MIG, TIG, and Spot welding techniques, materials, and defects.
Proficient in interpreting WPSs, welding symbols, and basic GD&T.
Familiar with welding codes and standards such as AWS, ASME, or ISO.
Working knowledge of weld inspection methods (visual, PT, UT, etc.).
Management of MIG, TIG, and Spot Welding Activities
Interpretation of Drawings, WPS, and Process Standards
Weld Quality Control and Documentation
Safety Enforcement and Operator Training
Coordination with Fabrication, Assembly, and Quality Teams
Monitoring Productivity and Process Improvement

Requires full PPE compliance and hands-on supervision.
