We are looking for a motivated and technically sound Junior Welding Operations Supervisor to assist in supervising day-to-day welding operations within a fabrication environment. This role is ideal for individuals with a solid foundation in welding processes (MIG, TIG, and Spot) and a desire to develop their supervisory and coordination skills. The candidate will support the execution of welding jobs, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and coordinate with production teams to maintain workflow efficiency.
Oversee daily welding activities including preparation, execution, and post-weld processes.
Assign welding tasks to operators and monitor work progress.
Ensure jobs are executed in compliance with WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications).
Read and understand basic fabrication drawings and weld symbols.
Ensure welding joints are prepared and executed according to drawings and process parameters.
Conduct visual inspection of welds for continuity, penetration, and surface finish.
Coordinate with quality inspectors for NDT and dimensional checks.
Assist in maintaining weld logs, heat numbers, and process traceability.
Ensure welders and helpers use appropriate PPE and follow safety practices.
Monitor gas and equipment handling procedures to avoid hazards.
Report near misses, incidents, and maintain safety documentation.
Communicate material and resource needs to the senior supervisor.
Provide daily progress updates and identify any process delays or rework requirements.
Support documentation related to welding processes, consumables, and operator assignments.
ITI / Diploma in Welding Technology, Mechanical, or Fabrication Engineering.
1–3 years of hands-on experience in welding operations (MIG, TIG, Spot).
Basic understanding of WPS, welding defects, and standard safety practices.
Ability to interpret simple fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
Strong team coordination and communication skills.
