We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mid-Level Welding Engineer with strong experience in TIG and Orbital welding processes, specifically tailored to the aerospace industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, qualifying, and maintaining welding procedures in compliance with aerospace standards and ensuring high-quality, precision welds for critical aerospace components.
Develop, document, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) per aerospace standards (e.g., AWS D17.1, NADCAP, AS9100).
Oversee and optimize TIG (GTAW) and Orbital welding processes for aerospace materials like titanium, stainless steel, Inconel, and aluminum alloys.
Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to define weld requirements for new products.
Perform root cause analysis of weld defects and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate and support welder qualification and certification programs.
Ensure all welding activities comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Assist in preparing technical reports, documentation, and audit responses (e.g., NADCAP audits).
Train and guide shop-floor welders on correct techniques and adherence to procedures.
Stay updated on advancements in welding technology and aerospace standards.
TIG Welding Expertise: Hands-on and technical knowledge in GTAW processes for aerospace parts.
Orbital Welding Proficiency: Experience in programming, setup, and operation of orbital welding equipment.
Aerospace Standards Compliance: Understanding of specifications such as AWS D17.1, AS9100, and NADCAP.
Material Expertise: Welding experience with aerospace-grade materials including titanium and nickel alloys.
Process Documentation & Auditing: Proficient in writing WPS/PQR and supporting compliance audits.
Defect Analysis & Quality Control: Ability to interpret X-ray/ultrasonic/NDT reports and resolve welding issues.
Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field.
3–6 years of relevant experience in aerospace welding engineering.
Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or AWS CWI certification (preferred).
Experience with CAD software and welding simulation tools is a plus.
