We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Welding Engineer to lead and manage welding engineering activities across large-scale fabrication and construction projects. The ideal candidate will be a technical authority in welding codes and standards (ASME IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104), with proven capability in developing procedures, troubleshooting critical welds, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring code compliance in high-stakes environments.
Develop, review, and approve WPS, PQR, and WPQ in compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
Serve as technical authority on welding codes: ASME IX, AWS D1.1, and API 1104.
Oversee welder qualification programs, including performance monitoring and continuity tracking.
Lead the resolution of complex welding and metallurgical issues, including weld failures, dissimilar materials, or in-service degradation.
Approve welding consumables, filler metals, and establish welding parameters for various materials and processes.
Interface with clients, third-party inspectors (TPI), and certification bodies for welding-related audits and approvals.
Provide guidance and training to junior welding engineers, inspectors, and fabrication teams.
Ensure full documentation and traceability of weld maps, heat numbers, and consumable batches.
Collaborate with QA/QC teams to address NCRs, participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and define Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Evaluate and approve subcontractor welding procedures and monitor fabrication quality at vendor sites.
Support material selection and weldability assessments during design and procurement stages.
Contribute to project quality plans, inspection & test plans (ITPs), and method statements related to welding.
