The successful candidate will bring extensive expertise in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding processes and will have a strong track record in working on pressure parts, structural assemblies, and piping systems. This role involves supervising complex weld activities, mentoring junior welders, ensuring compliance with stringent quality standards, and collaborating with QA/QC and engineering teams to support fabrication, maintenance, and shutdown activities.
Perform and oversee advanced welding tasks on high-pressure components, boiler parts, and alloy piping.
Execute complex welds in all positions, including 6G, on carbon steel, stainless steel, Inconel, and alloy steels.
Interpret and implement multiple WPSs with an understanding of heat input, interpass temperature, and weld sequencing.
Ensure strict compliance with ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, and plant-specific standards.
Coordinate with QA/QC for weld inspections, NDT, and qualification renewals.
Proactively identify and correct potential weld defects and support NCR resolutions.
Provide on-the-job training and technical support to junior and mid-level welders.
Assist in WPS development, PQR execution, and welder performance qualification testing.
Lead by example in upholding workplace safety, productivity, and craftsmanship.
Participate in critical shutdown weld repairs, retrofit works, and emergency hot weld jobs.
Assist in assessment and execution of weld overlays, cladding, and valve repair welds.
Support planning teams in work pack reviews and welding sequence optimization.
