Roles & Responsibilities

Job Title: Welder – SMAW, GTAW, FCAW (ASME/API Certified)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Mid-Level Welder proficient in SMAW, GTAW, and FCAW welding processes, certified to ASME/API standards, to perform high-quality welding on pressure parts, piping, and structural components. The candidate will work independently or as part of a fabrication team to meet project specifications and deadlines, ensuring compliance with welding procedures and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Welding Execution:

  • Perform welding tasks using SMAW, GTAW, and FCAW on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials according to engineering drawings and WPS.

  • Carry out root, fill, and cap passes on weld joints with precision and consistent quality.

  • Prepare, set up, and maintain welding equipment and accessories to ensure optimal performance.

Quality Control & Inspection:

  • Inspect welds for defects and ensure adherence to ASME Section IX and API welding codes.

  • Collaborate with QA/QC inspectors to resolve welding discrepancies and maintain welding records.

  • Participate in welding procedure qualifications (WPQT) and maintain valid certifications.

Collaboration & Support:

  • Coordinate with fitters, fabricators, and supervisors to ensure proper joint preparation and fit-up before welding.

  • Assist junior welders in developing welding techniques and safe work practices.

  • Support project execution by meeting production targets and maintaining schedule adherence.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere strictly to safety procedures, use PPE, and follow site safety regulations during welding operations.

  • Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of workplace safety.

  • Collaboration with fabrication and QA teams

  • Safety adherence and equipment maintenance

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

  • Diploma or ITI in Welding Technology or equivalent

  • Completed certified welding training

Certifications:

  • Valid ASME Section IX and API 1104 welder qualifications (2G/3G/6G or relevant positions)

  • Certification in SMAW, GTAW, FCAW welding processes

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of industrial welding experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy fabrication environments

  • Proven track record of producing welds to code-compliant standards

Skills:

  • Proficient in multi-process welding techniques and equipment handling

  • Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and P&IDs

  • Strong focus on weld quality and safety

  • Good communication and teamwork skills
