The Senior Vice President of General Sales is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for developing and executing the company's sales strategy to drive revenue growth and market expansion. This role provides strategic direction, leadership, and oversight of the entire sales organization, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision, objectives, and financial goals.
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies that align with overall business objectives and drive revenue growth across all markets and segments.
Collaborate with the executive team to shape long-term strategic plans and go-to-market initiatives.
Sales Management & Execution:
Lead, manage, and mentor regional and national sales teams to ensure high performance, accountability, and achievement of sales targets.
Establish KPIs, monitor performance metrics, and ensure effective forecasting and pipeline management.
Drive customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction through a customer-centric sales approach.
Market Development:
Identify new market opportunities and oversee expansion efforts into untapped territories.
Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Marketing, Product, Finance, and Operations to support product launches, pricing strategies, and promotional campaigns.
Ensure alignment between sales efforts and company-wide initiatives.
Talent Development:
Build a high-performing sales organization by recruiting top talent and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence.
Implement sales training and development programs to enhance team capabilities and performance.
Reporting & Analysis:
Provide regular reports and insights to the CEO and Board on sales performance, market dynamics, and strategic recommendations.
Use data analytics to drive informed decision-making and optimize sales effectiveness.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive sales leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
Proven track record of driving revenue growth, leading large teams, and entering new markets.
Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and operational execution skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities.
