The Vice President of Projects and Manufacturing is a senior executive leader responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of engineering projects and the manufacturing operations that support them. This role ensures that projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while manufacturing capabilities are aligned with business goals and client expectations.
Project Execution Leadership:
Oversee all phases of capital and fabrication projects from planning through execution, commissioning, and handover.
Ensure seamless integration between engineering, procurement, construction, and manufacturing functions.
Manufacturing Excellence:
Lead manufacturing operations (fabrication, assembly, welding, machining) with a focus on operational efficiency, cost control, quality, and on-time delivery.
Align plant capabilities with project and product requirements.
Strategic Planning and Growth:
Define and implement strategic initiatives to improve project delivery systems and expand manufacturing capabilities.
Drive innovation, automation, and digital transformation across project management and shop-floor operations.
Provide overall leadership for the projects and manufacturing divisions across multiple facilities or regions.
Develop and maintain project governance, performance tracking, and risk management systems.
Ensure all projects comply with client specifications, contracts, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
Establish operational KPIs (schedule adherence, cost variance, quality metrics, shop utilization, labor productivity, etc.).
Oversee procurement strategy and vendor engagement in alignment with project timelines and material specs.
Lead capacity planning, production scheduling, and optimization of manufacturing resources.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement in both project execution and plant operations.
Serve as executive liaison to major clients, joint venture partners, and internal leadership teams.
Guide organizational development, succession planning, and team performance reviews.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
15–20+ years of experience in project delivery and manufacturing operations, with at least 5–7 years in an executive or senior leadership role.
Proven experience leading multi-million-dollar industrial, energy, infrastructure, or fabrication projects.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and testing.
Project Management Leadership – Expert in managing complex engineering or EPC projects with cross-functional teams.
Manufacturing Operations – Strong background in plant operations, Lean manufacturing, and capacity planning.
Cost and Schedule Control – Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
Strategic Thinking – Ability to align project and plant operations with overall business strategy.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement – Effective communicator with internal and external stakeholders, including executive clients.
Digital & Process Innovation – Familiarity with ERP, MES, digital twins, and project control systems (Primavera, MS Project).
Leadership and People Development – Proven ability to build and motivate diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
Quality and Compliance – Knowledge of ISO standards, ASME, API, and other industry-specific compliance systems.
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt)
Professional Engineer (PE) License (preferred)
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent (a plus)
Primarily based at corporate headquarters or regional hub; frequent visits to manufacturing sites and project locations.
May involve domestic or international travel.
Executive visibility in board reviews, client presentations, and strategic planning sessions.
