The Vice President – Mechanical and EPC Services is responsible for leading and overseeing all mechanical engineering, construction, and integrated EPC services within the organization. The role ensures delivery of turnkey industrial and energy projects with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, budget, and schedule performance. This position serves as a strategic partner to business development, engineering, and operations to execute complex projects and drive organizational growth.
Define and execute strategies for mechanical services and EPC project delivery aligned with corporate goals.
Lead large-scale project execution across oil & gas, energy, refinery, and industrial sectors.
Ensure long-term planning for capacity, technology integration, and organizational capability building.
Oversee the full lifecycle of EPC projects from bid development to commissioning and handover.
Ensure mechanical design, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning are well integrated and managed.
Resolve escalated technical, commercial, and execution challenges across projects.
Lead mechanical engineering teams for design, piping, rotating/static equipment, and structural components.
Drive standardization, modularization, and constructability principles.
Ensure that all mechanical scopes meet technical specs, safety standards, and client expectations.
Collaborate with business development and tendering teams to support technical proposals and pricing.
Serve as executive liaison to key clients, joint ventures, and consortium partners.
Negotiate major contracts, changes, and risk mitigation strategies.
Lead cross-functional teams including project managers, engineers, planners, and construction leads.
Mentor senior talent and support leadership development across project and engineering functions.
Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Piping systems (CS/SS/Alloy), static/rotating equipment installation, structural steel erection
Process skids, modular plants, mechanical packages
Turnkey EPC projects (greenfield & brownfield) across oil & gas, power, and chemical sectors
Engineering: Basic & detailed design, 3D modeling (PDMS, SP3D, E3D)
Procurement: Technical evaluation, vendor management, expediting
Construction: Site execution, heavy lifting, hydrotesting, pre-commissioning
Commissioning & Start-up: Mechanical completion, punch list, system handover
Project gross margin & EBITDA contribution
Mechanical scope schedule adherence (planned vs actual %)
Safety performance (TRIR, near-miss rate)
Change order recovery and client satisfaction index
Quality metrics (NCRs, rework rate)
ASME, API, ISO, AWS, ASTM, PED, EN
HSE compliance per OSHA / ISO 45001 / local regulations
EPC governance (FIDIC, NEC, or client-specific contracts)
Education:
B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
MBA or Executive Program in Project Management/Operations (preferred)
Certifications (Preferred):
PMP®, Prince2®, or equivalent
ISO 9001/45001 Lead Auditor, ASME/API Certification
Experience:
20+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, project execution, or EPC leadership
Proven record of leading multi-million-dollar industrial/EPC projects globally or regionally
