Key Focus Area:

  • Integrate and lead the entire engineering-to-fabrication lifecycle, from concept design and detailed engineering to fabrication, assembly, testing, and final delivery, with a focus on mechanical systems, pressure equipment, structural components, and packaged units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement strategic objectives for engineering design, drafting, fabrication, and manufacturing excellence.

  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality engineering packages aligned with fabrication capabilities and client requirements.

  • Lead all fabrication shop operations including cutting, forming, welding, machining, assembly, and testing.

  • Ensure strict compliance with engineering standards and fabrication codes (ASME, API, AWS, ISO, etc.).

  • Drive collaboration between design, production, QA/QC, supply chain, and project management teams.

  • Manage P&L for fabrication business units, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital investments.

  • Establish metrics to track efficiency, productivity, rework, delivery performance, and material utilization.

  • Champion continuous improvement and technology adoption (e.g., 3D design, CNC machining, welding automation, digital twin).

  • Represent the organization in client meetings, technical reviews, audits, and executive engagements.

  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, fabricators, supervisors, and department heads.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

  • 15–20+ years of progressive experience in engineering, fabrication, and manufacturing environments.

  • Proven track record in executive leadership roles within heavy industrial sectors (e.g., oil & gas, power, mining, infrastructure, or process equipment manufacturing).

  • Extensive knowledge of fabrication processes, mechanical design standards, and large-scale project delivery.

Key Skills:

  • Strategic Leadership – ability to define vision and lead complex, cross-functional operations from engineering to production.

  • Mechanical Engineering Mastery – deep understanding of structural and pressure component design, codes, and materials.

  • Fabrication Operations – hands-on knowledge of shop-floor processes including welding, NDT, machining, and modular assembly.

  • Process Optimization – Lean manufacturing, workflow streamlining, and waste reduction across engineering and production.

  • Project Management – ability to manage engineering-fabrication deliverables on time and within budget.

  • Commercial Acumen – experience in managing cost control, resource planning, vendor oversight, and profitability.

  • Technical Compliance – familiarity with ASME Section VIII/IX, B31.3, AWS D1.1, API 650, ISO 9001, and related standards.

  • Team Building – talent development, succession planning, and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng)

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (preferred)

  • PMP or equivalent project leadership certification (optional)

  • Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or AWS/CSWIP credentials (a plus)

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based with frequent visits to fabrication shops, project sites, and client locations.

  • May require occasional international or regional travel.

  • Executive-level participation in strategic planning, audits, and board-level reviews.
