The Vice President – Mechanical & HVAC Systems leads strategic planning, engineering, execution, and lifecycle management of all mechanical and HVAC systems across water and wastewater treatment facilities. This executive role ensures operational reliability, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance of complex mechanical systems, including pumps, piping, HVAC, pressure vessels, and thermal systems. The VP plays a key leadership role in capital projects, technical innovation, cross-functional coordination, and sustainability initiatives within the organization.
Develop and lead long-term strategies for the design, maintenance, and modernization of mechanical and HVAC systems in treatment facilities.
Oversee capital and O&M planning related to mechanical and HVAC infrastructure.
Drive standardization, asset performance optimization, and cost efficiency initiatives.
Provide executive oversight of engineering designs for HVAC, pumping stations, chemical dosing systems, mechanical ventilation, and heat recovery systems.
Ensure design compliance with ASME, AWWA, ANSI, ASHRAE, NFPA, and local building/mechanical codes.
Approve key design decisions, vendor selections, and risk mitigation strategies.
Lead large-scale mechanical and HVAC upgrades and expansions across facilities.
Monitor project milestones, budgets, contractor performance, and stakeholder alignment.
Manage engineering review processes and technical approvals during project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and mechanical regulations.
Oversee programs focused on energy efficiency, indoor air quality, emissions, and decarbonization of HVAC/mechanical operations.
Collaborate with environmental and EH&S teams on system resilience and regulatory audits.
Lead a team of mechanical engineers, HVAC specialists, project managers, and maintenance professionals.
Promote technical mentorship, succession planning, and high-performance culture.
Collaborate with operations, capital planning, and facility management divisions.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (required)
Master’s degree or MBA (preferred)
Certifications:
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) – Preferred
ASHRAE or LEED accreditation is a plus
Experience:
15+ years of mechanical engineering experience with 5–7 years in a senior leadership or VP role
Deep experience in HVAC, pumping, and piping systems in municipal/industrial water or wastewater facilities
Proven ability to lead large, multi-site capital projects and system upgrades
Skills:
