The Vice President – Facilities & Utilities Engineering will lead strategic planning, design, implementation, and optimization of all engineering functions related to plant facilities and utility systems in a power generation environment. This executive-level role is accountable for ensuring high availability, energy efficiency, reliability, and compliance of systems such as HVAC, compressed air, cooling water, steam, fuel handling, fire protection, and auxiliary utilities. The VP will guide multidisciplinary engineering teams and align infrastructure capabilities with operational and expansion objectives.
Define and implement the long-term vision for utilities and facilities engineering in alignment with plant goals.
Direct multi-disciplinary engineering, design, and technical service teams across HVAC, piping, mechanical, civil, and utility functions.
Lead capacity planning and infrastructure development for current operations and future projects.
Oversee design, engineering, and execution of all utility systems including chilled water plants, boilers, HVAC, compressed air, water treatment, fire protection, and wastewater systems.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as ASHRAE, API, NFPA, ASME, and local regulatory codes.
Review and approve major technical documents, specifications, and project engineering deliverables.
Provide governance on major facility upgrades, utility integration, brownfield/greenfield installations, and capital projects.
Drive cross-functional collaboration between engineering, maintenance, commissioning, and operations teams.
Monitor budgets, timelines, and technical KPIs for projects and infrastructure performance.
Champion energy conservation, emissions control, and system efficiency improvements.
Establish reliability programs for critical utilities (steam, air, cooling) and manage plant-wide utilities risk.
Promote automation, digital monitoring, and predictive maintenance for key facility systems.
Ensure facilities and utilities engineering practices comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in engineering audits, incident reviews, and HAZOP/HAZID studies.
Implement ISO 9001/14001/50001 and other quality/environmental management systems across facilities scope.
Build, mentor, and lead high-performance teams of senior engineers, project managers, and technical experts.
Drive engineering capability development and succession planning.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s or MBA preferred)
Experience:
15–20+ years in facilities/utilities engineering roles within power plants, oil & gas, or large-scale industrial operations
Proven leadership in managing utilities infrastructure and multi-disciplinary engineering departments
Strong background in plant systems like HVAC, steam, compressed air, fuel handling, and auxiliary power
