We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President – Fabrication and Manufacturing Engineering to lead our enterprise-wide fabrication and manufacturing engineering functions. This role is responsible for driving innovation, operational excellence, and scalable engineering practices across all product lines and facilities. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of mechanical systems, fabrication technologies, and manufacturing processes, coupled with strong leadership skills and business acumen.
Define and execute the strategic roadmap for manufacturing engineering and fabrication capability development.
Align engineering and fabrication functions with product design, operations, and business growth objectives.
Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of cutting-edge fabrication technologies, including welding, forming, machining, and additive manufacturing.
Oversee design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and process simulation initiatives.
Develop and standardize processes for tooling, plant layout, material flow, and equipment specification.
Implement digital manufacturing systems, Industry 4.0 technologies, and real-time monitoring capabilities.
Ensure seamless transition of new products from R&D into scalable and cost-effective production.
Support early-stage product design with engineering input focused on manufacturability, efficiency, and quality.
Lead a diverse team of engineers, technical experts, and project managers across multiple locations.
Build engineering excellence through training, mentorship, and succession planning.
Lead enterprise-wide fabrication and manufacturing engineering operations, covering multiple plants or divisions.
Develop and manage capital investment plans related to fabrication capacity, automation, and technology upgrades.
Establish and enforce engineering standards, documentation systems, and technical review protocols.
Partner with supply chain, production, and quality leaders to ensure robust and efficient manufacturing solutions.
Oversee tooling design, manufacturing process validation, and factory readiness for new product launches.
Drive cost-reduction, productivity, and quality improvement initiatives through engineering-driven solutions.
Represent the company in customer meetings, strategic partnerships, and industry forums.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
15+ years of progressive experience in fabrication and manufacturing engineering, with 7+ years in senior or executive leadership roles.
Proven expertise in fabrication systems such as metal forming, CNC machining, welding, robotic assembly, and structural integration.
Strong foundation in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with PLM systems, ERP integration, and digital twin/model-based engineering environments.
Executive-level experience in industries such as automotive, aerospace, heavy machinery, or energy systems.
Knowledge of sustainability standards and green manufacturing strategies.
Global operations experience, including oversight of offshore or contract manufacturing facilities.
Certifications in Six Sigma, PMP, or ASME/AWS standards.
