The Junior Vehicle Technician – Mechanical Diagnostics supports basic mechanical inspections, repairs, and diagnostic procedures for automotive systems under supervision. This entry-level role focuses on learning and assisting with troubleshooting mechanical faults in engines, drivetrains, suspensions, and related vehicle systems. The technician plays a vital role in maintaining vehicle readiness for development, testing, or service operations while gaining hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and repair processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in mechanical inspections and preliminary diagnostic evaluations of vehicle systems.
Support engine, transmission, suspension, and brake system troubleshooting under guidance.
Help perform basic mechanical repairs such as part replacements, fluid changes, and torque checks.
Operate diagnostic scan tools and assist with interpreting fault codes and sensor data.
Document issues, repair steps, and part usage for traceability and reporting.
Maintain shop tools, safety procedures, and work area cleanliness.
Learn and follow diagnostic procedures, manufacturer specifications, and technical standards.
Support test preparation, including system checks and vehicle readiness tasks.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Enrollment in or completion of a technical program in automotive repair or mechanical systems preferred
Experience:
0–2 years of hands-on experience in vehicle service, diagnostics, or maintenance
Internships or vocational training in automotive environments is a plus
Technical Skills:
Basic knowledge of automotive systems and mechanical components
Familiarity with hand tools, torque procedures, and safety equipment
Exposure to diagnostic scanners and workshop manuals
