The Mid-Level Valve Testing and Calibration Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the testing, calibration, and performance validation of control, safety, and process valves across plant systems. This role ensures that valve systems meet functional, regulatory, and safety specifications through accurate diagnostic procedures and quality assurance processes. The role also supports junior staff development and coordinates with engineering and operations to maintain system reliability.
This position is critical in regulated or high-integrity environments such as Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, or Chemical Processing.

Perform and supervise the calibration and testing of a wide range of valves: control valves, PRVs, solenoids, shutoff valves, actuated valves, etc.
Use pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic testing systems to verify pressure, response time, and flow control accuracy.
Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and internal calibration standards.
Ensure all calibration procedures adhere to standards such as ISO 9001, FDA, EHEDG, ASME, and 3-A (as applicable).
Maintain traceable records for all tested valves and ensure compliance with internal and external audits.
Validate that all testing equipment is within calibration and suitable for use.
Diagnose and resolve valve issues such as pressure drift, seal failure, response lag, or control signal mismatch.
Work with maintenance and automation teams to address issues with valve actuators or control loops.
Provide technical input on valve selection, replacement, or upgrade for performance improvement.
Supervise junior calibration technicians and assign tasks based on skill and priority.
Provide technical training on valve testing protocols, documentation standards, and safety.
Promote a culture of quality, precision, and hygiene, especially in sanitary environments.
Ensure proper entry of calibration results in CMMS and QA systems.
Maintain calibration schedules and generate reports for performance tracking and regulatory purposes.
Recommend improvements to calibration SOPs and tools based on field experience.
Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, or related field.
3–6 years of experience in valve calibration, testing, or instrumentation within regulated industries.
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and valve data sheets.
Familiarity with major valve and actuator brands (e.g., Emerson, Fisher, Spirax Sarco, Burkert, Alfa Laval)
Experience with test rigs, pressure calibrators, loop testers, digital manometers, and diagnostic software
Understanding of clean-in-place (CIP) systems and hygienic valve applications (for F&B/pharma sectors)
Proficient with CMMS platforms (SAP, Maximo, Infor) and digital calibration systems
