We are seeking an experienced Valve Testing Technician to independently conduct and oversee the testing of industrial valves to ensure they meet all functional, safety, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with hydrostatic, pneumatic, and functional testing of various valve types. This role involves interpreting test procedures, troubleshooting testing issues, and coordinating with engineering and quality teams to maintain high standards of valve performance.
Perform hydrostatic, pneumatic, seat leakage, and functional testing on a range of valves including gate, globe, ball, butterfly, check, and safety valves.
Setup and operate valve test rigs, pressure pumps, and instrumentation according to OEM and industry standards.
Conduct tests in compliance with API, ASME, and customer specifications.
Inspect valves pre- and post-testing for defects or assembly issues affecting test outcomes.
Troubleshoot valve malfunctions or leaks detected during testing and recommend corrective actions.
Document findings and report deviations or non-conformances.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of test procedures, parameters, and results.
Generate test reports for quality control and customer review.
Ensure full traceability of tested valves and associated documentation.
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols during all testing activities.
Conduct risk assessments and participate in safety audits.
Ensure proper handling and maintenance of testing equipment.
Provide guidance and support to junior testing technicians.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to improve testing processes.
Assist in developing or updating test procedures and standard operating instructions.
Technical diploma or equivalent certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related discipline.
3–5 years of hands-on experience in valve testing or mechanical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Proficient in hydrostatic and pneumatic test procedures and equipment.
Ability to interpret valve drawings, specifications, and test standards (API 6D, API 598, ASME B16.34).
Skilled in identifying valve performance issues and applying corrective measures.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
Effective communicator with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
Safety-conscious with a proactive approach to hazard identification.
Certification in valve testing or pressure equipment inspection (e.g., API 598, API 6D).
Safety certifications such as OSHA, confined space, or LOTO.
Basic knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001)
