We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Valve Test Technician to lead the setup, execution, and documentation of valve pressure testing activities. This role involves supervising valve testing operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, mentoring junior technicians, and interacting with clients or inspectors as required.
Independently conduct hydrostatic, pneumatic, seat leakage, and shell pressure tests in accordance with standards such as API 598, API 6D, ASME B16.34.
Test a wide range of valve types, including gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly, pressure relief, and control valves.
Set cracking pressures for safety valves and verify reseating performance.
Supervise junior and mid-level technicians during test setups and executions.
Ensure proper procedures are followed and testing timelines are met.
Train team members on test methods, safety practices, and reporting.
Prepare and review detailed test reports, ensuring traceability and accuracy.
Verify that all tested valves meet client specifications and applicable standards.
Support QA/QC engineers in compiling inspection dossiers and release documents.
Operate and calibrate manual and automated test benches, gauges, data loggers, and high-pressure systems.
Oversee periodic maintenance and calibration schedules for test equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve test rig or valve-related issues during testing.
Ensure strict adherence to HSE procedures, especially when working with high-pressure systems.
Conduct risk assessments before testing activities.
Maintain a safe and organized testing area.
Lead all testing activities related to new, overhauled, or repaired valves.
Interface with QA/QC inspectors and client representatives during testing and final inspection.
Provide technical input to engineering or repair teams based on test outcomes.
Maintain logs, test records, calibration certificates, and valve traceability data.
Report deviations or non-conformities and support root cause analysis.
Diploma / ITI in Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering.
6–10+ years of relevant experience in valve testing (workshop or field-based).
Deep understanding of valve operation, testing procedures, and safety requirements.
Familiarity with test standards: API 598, API 6D, ASME B16.34, ISO 5208.
Advanced knowledge of industrial valve types and functions
Skilled in high-pressure testing equipment and leak detection

Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure
OEM Training in Valve Testing (e.g., Velan, KSB, Audco, Fisher)
ASNT Level II (PT, MT) – preferred
Safety Training: High-Pressure Systems, H2S, Confined Space, First Aid
Workshop-based with occasional on-site testing for shutdowns or commissioning
Exposure to water, compressed gases, loud environments, and high-pressure risks
PPE compliance mandatory; may involve shift work or extended hours
