We are looking for a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Junior Valve Test Technician to support the setup and execution of pressure testing procedures on industrial valves. This is an entry-level role ideal for candidates with mechanical aptitude who are eager to learn and grow in valve testing and inspection.
Prepare valves for hydrostatic and pneumatic testing under the guidance of a senior technician or supervisor.
Assist in connecting valves to test benches using appropriate flanges, hoses, and pressure fittings.
Ensure correct test medium (air, water, nitrogen) is used based on test specification.
Support pressure and seat leakage tests in accordance with applicable standards (e.g., API 598, API 6D, ASME B16.34).
Observe and record basic test results and report leaks or abnormalities.
Assist with relief valve cracking and reseating pressure checks.
Fill out basic test records, checklists, and equipment logs.
Tag tested valves with test status and ensure traceability is maintained.
Maintain organization of testing documents and reference data under supervision.
Operate hand tools, test gauges, and simple instrumentation correctly and safely.
Perform pre-use checks on test benches, hoses, gauges, and pressure relief systems.
Follow safety procedures and use appropriate PPE during high-pressure testing operations.
Keep test area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Support basic maintenance and cleaning of test equipment after each use.
Report any malfunction or wear of tools and gauges to the supervisor.
Assist in the preparation and execution of valve pressure testing.
Support QA/QC team in recording and documenting test parameters.
Work collaboratively with valve technicians and inspectors during assembly and testing.
Maintain tools and workspace in safe and functional condition.
ITI or Diploma in Mechanical / Fitter / Instrumentation or equivalent.
0–2 years of experience in mechanical testing or industrial maintenance (freshers with training can apply).
Basic knowledge of pressure systems and mechanical tools.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions closely.
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Familiarity with valves and mechanical systems (preferred)

Workshop or valve testing bay
Exposure to water, compressed air, pressurized systems, and mechanical noise
