Job Title: Valve Technician – Water Treatment Plant
We are looking for a skilled Mid-Level Valve Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of valves within a water treatment facility. This role involves independent handling of valve-related tasks, supporting shutdown activities, and ensuring reliable valve operation to maintain plant efficiency and safety.
Valve Maintenance & Repair
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on various valve types including gate, butterfly, ball, and check valves.
Troubleshoot valve failures, diagnose issues, and implement repairs or replacements as needed.
Adjust, calibrate, and test valves to ensure proper operation and compliance with specifications.
Installation & Overhaul Support
Assist in valve installation during planned maintenance outages or plant upgrades.
Participate in valve overhaul, refurbishment, and testing activities to extend equipment life.
Ensure valves are properly documented in maintenance management systems.
Safety & Compliance
Adhere to all safety protocols including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and use of PPE.
Identify and report potential safety hazards or operational concerns related to valves.
Support compliance with regulatory and plant standards.
Technical Collaboration & Training
Work closely with senior technicians, engineers, and operations teams to support valve system reliability.
Provide guidance to junior technicians and assist with on-the-job training.
Stay updated on valve technologies, repair techniques, and industry best practices.
Performing independent valve maintenance and repairs
Supporting installation and overhaul projects
Ensuring safety compliance
Providing technical support and mentoring junior staff
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical maintenance or hydraulics preferred
Experience:
3–5 years of hands-on experience in valve maintenance, repair, or mechanical trades, preferably in water treatment or industrial settings
Skills:
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills related to valves and actuators
Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and maintenance procedures
Good communication and teamwork abilities
