We are looking for an experienced Senior Valve Technician to lead valve repair, testing, and maintenance activities in industrial environments such as power plants, refineries, or chemical facilities. This role requires expert-level knowledge of valve technologies, advanced diagnostic and repair skills, and the ability to oversee complex testing procedures. The senior technician will also mentor junior team members, contribute to process improvements, and collaborate closely with engineering and maintenance leadership to ensure valve reliability and compliance with industry standards.
Lead comprehensive inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of a wide range of valves including safety valves, control valves, actuated valves, and specialty valves.
Execute advanced functional tests, including seat leakage, pressure testing, actuator calibration, and diagnostic testing using specialized equipment.
Interpret complex technical documentation, engineering drawings, and valve specifications to ensure precise repair and testing outcomes.
Mentor and train junior and mid-level technicians, providing technical guidance and hands-on support.
Collaborate with maintenance planners and engineers to develop and optimize valve maintenance strategies and shutdown plans.
Ensure all repair and testing activities comply with relevant standards such as API 598, API 6D, ASME, and internal quality and safety policies.
Lead root cause analysis for valve failures and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
Manage calibration and maintenance of valve testing equipment and tools.
Provide detailed reports on valve conditions, repair history, and testing results to supervisors and engineering teams.
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent technical qualification
Certifications:
Professional certifications in valve maintenance, non-destructive testing (NDT), or actuator systems preferred (e.g., API 598, CSWIP)
Experience:
7+ years of progressive experience in valve repair and testing in heavy industry settings
Proven track record of leading valve maintenance projects and mentoring teams
Skills:
Expert knowledge of valve types, failure modes, and repair/testing methodologies
Proficient with diagnostic and testing tools (pressure gauges, leak detectors, actuators)
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation standards
Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
