We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Valve Technician to perform independent repair, maintenance, and testing of industrial valves. This role involves hands-on work in disassembling, inspecting, troubleshooting, and reassembling valves, including actuated and safety valves, to ensure their proper functioning and compliance with specifications. The technician will work closely with supervisors and engineers to support maintenance schedules and shutdown activities.
Independently inspect, repair, and overhaul a range of valves including control valves, ball valves, gate valves, check valves, and safety relief valves.
Conduct functional testing such as seat leakage tests, pressure testing, and actuator calibration according to standards (API 598, API 6D).
Troubleshoot mechanical and pneumatic/hydraulic actuator issues and perform minor adjustments or repairs.
Interpret valve data sheets, maintenance manuals, and technical drawings to carry out precise repairs.
Maintain detailed documentation of repair activities, test results, and valve condition reports.
Assist in preparing valve maintenance plans and contribute to shutdown preparations.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols (LOTO, PPE) and participate in safety briefings and audits.
Provide guidance and training to junior technicians when needed.
Education:
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field
Experience:
3–5 years of hands-on experience repairing and testing industrial valves
Experience with actuator types (pneumatic, electric, hydraulic) preferred
Skills:
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with valve systems
Familiarity with pressure testing equipment and calibration tools
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, valve datasheets, and repair manuals
Good organizational and communication skills
Safety-focused with proven track record of following protocols
