We are seeking a technically competent Mid-Level Valve Technician with hands-on experience in valve assembly, disassembly, repair, testing, and overhaul. This role involves working with a variety of valve types in workshop and/or field environments to ensure operational readiness and compliance with client and industry specifications.
Independently dismantle and inspect valves for wear, corrosion, or damage.
Identify components requiring repair or replacement (e.g., seats, stems, seals).
Perform basic mechanical repair tasks, including lapping, grinding, and fitting.
Reassemble valves (gate, globe, ball, butterfly, check, safety, control) per datasheets and OEM standards.
Ensure correct torqueing, alignment, and clearance during reassembly.
Replace seals, gaskets, fasteners, and internal components as needed.
Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests as per API 598 / API 6D / ASME B16.34.
Assist in calibration and setting of safety/pressure relief valves under supervision or independently.
Troubleshoot failures during testing and rectify as necessary.
Fill out job cards, inspection checklists, and test reports accurately.
Maintain records of parts used, repairs conducted, and time taken.
Tag valves and ensure traceability of components during overhauls.
Adhere to all HSE guidelines during valve handling and repair.
Maintain tools and equipment in clean and functional condition.
Ensure work area is kept organized and compliant with safety practices.
Execute repair, maintenance, and overhaul jobs on valves independently or as part of a team.
Interpret valve datasheets, technical drawings, and client specifications.
Operate workshop equipment such as lapping machines, test benches, pneumatic tools, etc.
Ensure timely delivery of completed jobs to meet workshop or project schedules.
Support field servicing activities if required.
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Fitter Trade.
3–5 years of experience in valve repair, maintenance, or overhaul (workshop or site-based).
Strong knowledge of valve components, assembly procedures, and testing methods.
Familiarity with industry standards (API, ASME) is a strong advantage.
Hands-on expertise in industrial valve servicing
Proficient in using mechanical tools and instruments
Basic understanding of pressure testing procedures
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
OEM valve servicing training (Fisher, Velan, KSB, etc.)
API 598 / 6D test procedures familiarity
Safety certifications (H2S, confined space, etc.) if fieldwork is involved
Workshop-based with occasional field work
May involve shift work, overtime, or working in high-temperature/high-pressure environments
Must use PPE and follow strict safety standards
