We are seeking a motivated and technically inclined Junior Valve Technician to support the assembly, disassembly, repair, and overhaul of industrial valves in a workshop or field environment. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with a mechanical background looking to develop hands-on experience with valve components and servicing procedures.
Assist in assembling new valves as per engineering drawings and specifications.
Support disassembly of used or damaged valves for repair or overhaul.
Handle various valve types: gate, globe, ball, butterfly, check, control, and safety valves.
Clean valve parts using appropriate tools and techniques (solvents, wire brushes, etc.).
Replace gaskets, seals, seats, and other worn components under supervision.
Support lapping, grinding, and machining processes when required.
Assist in hydrostatic, pneumatic, and seat leak testing.
Record basic measurements using tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Support quality checks under the guidance of senior technicians or inspectors.
Use basic hand tools, pneumatic tools, and workshop equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and functionality of tools and work areas.
Adhere to tool control and maintenance procedures.
Follow safety instructions and wear proper PPE during all tasks.
Comply with company HSE policies and workshop safety rules.
Report any unsafe practices or incidents to supervisors.
Assist with the mechanical repair and maintenance of valves in the workshop or field.
Carry out tagging, labeling, and documentation of valves and components.
Load/unload and move valves with hoists or lifting equipment under supervision.
Support senior valve technicians in meeting project timelines and quality expectations.
ITI or Diploma in Mechanical / Fitter Trade or equivalent.
0–2 years of relevant experience in valve repair or mechanical assembly (freshers with training may apply).
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools.
Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work in a team.
Ability to read basic mechanical drawings is a plus.
Workshop or field-based work environment.
Physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long hours.
Exposure to oils, grease, solvents, and pressurized systems (with safety controls).
