We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Valve Supervisor to lead and manage all operations within the valve maintenance shop. This role demands in-depth technical knowledge of industrial valve systems and strong leadership capabilities to oversee teams, ensure compliance with international standards, and deliver high-quality maintenance, repair, and testing services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for work planning, resource allocation, QA/QC interface, safety management, and continuous improvement of shop practices.
Oversee the full operation of the valve maintenance facility, including control, relief, isolation, and automated valve systems.
Assign, monitor, and evaluate the work of valve technicians and junior supervisors, ensuring alignment with project timelines and standards.
Implement best practices in valve diagnostics, lapping, machining, and advanced testing procedures.
Ensure adherence to industry standards such as API 598, 6D, 570, ASME, and manufacturer guidelines.
Lead or review hydrostatic, pneumatic, and seat leak testing of valves, preparing and validating final documentation and test certificates.
Manage NCRs, support root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions in collaboration with QA/QC teams.
Liaise with operations, maintenance planners, and engineering to forecast workload, material needs, and labor allocation.
Participate in scope reviews and job pack preparation for major shutdowns, turnarounds, and critical maintenance interventions.
Support the planning of preventive and predictive valve maintenance programs.
Champion safety culture in the workshop by enforcing permit-to-work (PTW), LOTO, and confined space entry protocols.
Conduct safety meetings, hazard assessments, and incident investigations as needed.
Ensure the valve shop complies with all relevant occupational health, safety, and environmental policies.
Oversee valve component inventory and consumables, ensuring traceability, reorder points, and usage controls are in place.
Recommend upgrades to equipment, fixtures, and technology to increase efficiency and reliability.
Train and mentor junior technicians and supervisors to build competency and readiness for field deployment or specialist roles.
Conduct performance evaluations and propose individual development plans aligned with business needs.
Drive technical upskilling initiatives and promote a high-performance culture.
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
8–12+ years of experience in valve maintenance, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role in a valve shop or equivalent setting.
Deep expertise in managing control valves, PSV/SRVs, MOVs, and isolation valves across oil & gas, petrochemical, or power industries.
Mastery of valve repair procedures, test standards (API/ASME), and quality control protocols.
Competence in using diagnostic tools, test benches, and valve management systems.
Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, datasheets, and QA documentation.
Strong leadership and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments.
Excellent communication, team-building, and stakeholder coordination abilities.
Proactive, analytical mindset with a focus on quality and reliability.
API 598 / API 6D / API 570 / API 510 Certified (preferred).
NEBOSH / OSHA / IOSH Safety Certification.
Permit-to-Work, Flange Management, and LOTO System Certification.
