We are seeking a motivated Junior Valve Specialist to assist in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of valves across water treatment and distribution systems. This entry-level role supports mechanical teams by handling valve components, learning system layouts, and performing hands-on tasks under the guidance of senior specialists and supervisors.
Valve Maintenance & Repair
Assist in disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and reassembling valves such as gate, butterfly, plug, and check valves.
Support lubrication, seal replacement, and other basic repairs under supervision.
Participate in troubleshooting leaks, sticking, or flow issues within mechanical systems.
System Support & Field Work
Learn to locate and identify valves in plant and pipeline systems using diagrams and GIS tools.
Help conduct valve cycling and exercising activities in the field.
Assist with isolations during plant or system maintenance events.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and PPE use.
Report any safety hazards or equipment issues promptly.
Participate in safety briefings and training sessions.
Documentation & Reporting
Accurately document maintenance activities, including valve condition and repairs performed.
Enter basic information into CMMS or maintenance logs.
Communicate findings to team leads or supervisors.

Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Technical training in mechanical systems or industrial maintenance preferred
Experience:
0–2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, valve work, or water utility environments
On-the-job training or apprenticeship experience is a plus

Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of valve types
Willingness to learn and follow procedures
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Good communication and ability to work in a team environment
