The Senior Valve Production Supervisor leads all aspects of valve manufacturing operations, including assembly, pressure testing, quality control, and workforce management. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring production excellence through the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, quality assurance practices, and team development strategies. The senior supervisor collaborates closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement, optimize throughput, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASME, AWWA, and ISO 9001.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Leadership
Oversee day-to-day valve production operations across multiple lines or shifts.
Ensure production schedules, throughput, and quality standards are consistently met or exceeded.
Lead capacity planning and labor allocation to optimize performance and reduce bottlenecks.
Quality, Compliance & Standards
Enforce compliance with ASME, AWWA, ISO, and internal QA/QC protocols throughout the assembly and testing process.
Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in response to non-conformance issues.
Partner with QA and engineering to implement robust validation and documentation systems.
Team Development & Supervision
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technicians, assemblers, and junior supervisors.
Conduct training programs, performance reviews, and skill-building initiatives.
Cultivate a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
Champion Lean, 5S, and Kaizen activities to improve workflow, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for recurring production issues.
Analyze performance metrics and drive initiatives to reduce cycle time and increase OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with planning, procurement, design, and maintenance teams to streamline operations.
Provide DFM feedback and support new product introduction (NPI) from a production readiness perspective.
Represent production in daily management meetings and strategic planning discussions.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field
Additional certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or ISO/QMS preferred
Experience:
7+ years in valve or mechanical component manufacturing
3+ years in a supervisory or production leadership role in a regulated manufacturing environment
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of valve design, assembly, pressure testing, and sealing technologies
Proficiency in ERP systems, production scheduling, and real-time KPI monitoring
Skilled in using quality tools (FMEA, SPC, CAPA, 8D) and interpreting mechanical drawings/specs
Soft Skills:
Proven leadership and team-building capabilities
High attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong communication abilities and cross-functional collaboration experience
