The Valve Production Supervisor – Mid-Level is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations for valve assembly, testing, and packaging. This role ensures production targets are met with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, safety, and team performance. The supervisor oversees a team of technicians and assembly operators, manages workflow across shifts, and collaborates with quality, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure timely delivery of compliant, high-performance valve products.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight
Supervise day-to-day valve assembly and testing operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and output targets.
Allocate tasks and optimize workforce deployment to meet daily and weekly production goals.
Monitor WIP, material flow, and equipment utilization to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
Quality & Compliance
Enforce quality control standards during assembly, pressure testing, and final inspection.
Coordinate with the QA team to resolve non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards (ASME, AWWA, ISO 9001, internal SOPs).
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise and train production operators, fostering technical skill development and adherence to procedures.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and promote team accountability.
Lead daily shift meetings focused on safety, quality, and productivity metrics.
Safety & Operational Excellence
Enforce workplace safety standards and proper handling of mechanical and pressurized systems.
Report and address safety incidents or near-misses; implement preventive measures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, Lean, and Kaizen projects.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work with planning, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure timely availability of components and tools.
Provide input on design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and process improvement opportunities.
Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) for production issues and contribute to efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Associate degree or Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred
Technical certifications or supervisory training are a plus
Experience:
3–5 years of production experience in a mechanical or valve manufacturing environment
At least 1–2 years in a team lead, line leader, or supervisory role
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings, pressure test specs, and BOMs
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and shop floor control tools
Understanding of valve function, torque specs, testing protocols, and quality systems
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
Problem-solving ability and hands-on technical mindset
Organized, adaptable, and results-oriented with a focus on safety and quality
