We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Valve Maintenance Supervisor to lead valve maintenance operations across multiple water treatment plants and distribution assets. This senior-level role is responsible for planning and supervising valve-related activities, improving reliability, mentoring field teams, and driving safety, compliance, and asset performance initiatives.
Program Leadership & Strategic Oversight
Lead and manage comprehensive valve maintenance programs for isolation, control, pressure-reducing, and air-release valves across treatment and distribution systems.
Develop and enforce long-range valve maintenance schedules, valve exercising programs, and upgrade strategies aligned with asset lifecycle goals.
Lead coordination of complex or large-scale valve maintenance shutdowns or emergency repairs with operations and engineering teams.
Team Management & Field Supervision
Supervise valve technicians, mechanical crews, and contractors across multiple job sites.
Mentor and develop staff, ensuring skills growth in valve diagnostics, hydraulic function, and system troubleshooting.
Set priorities, track performance metrics, and ensure efficient crew deployment.
Asset Management & Reliability Support
Integrate valve condition data into the CMMS and GIS systems to support long-term asset planning.
Partner with Reliability and Asset Integrity teams to analyze failure patterns, optimize PM intervals, and inform capital reinvestment.
Maintain valve asset criticality rankings and condition-based maintenance thresholds.
Technical & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all valve maintenance complies with AWWA, OSHA, confined space, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols.
Conduct quality assurance checks, field inspections, and contractor audits to ensure technical accuracy and safety compliance.
Participate in internal and regulatory inspections and support documentation for audits.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination
Serve as a key liaison between maintenance, engineering, planning, and operations teams regarding valve systems.
Provide technical expertise during capital project planning or major shutdown planning involving valve systems.
Develop SOPs, training materials, and contribute to emergency response planning involving critical valves.
Oversight of valve maintenance operations across facilities
Staff leadership and technical mentoring
Strategic planning and asset lifecycle management
System reliability and compliance assurance
Stakeholder collaboration and emergency response readiness
