We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mid-Level Valve Maintenance Supervisor to lead the inspection, maintenance, and repair of valve systems across water treatment facilities. This role is responsible for coordinating daily field activities, ensuring adherence to safety and maintenance standards, and supporting the reliability and operability of critical valve infrastructure.
Valve System Oversight
Supervise maintenance and servicing of valves (gate, check, butterfly, control, air release) and associated actuators and linkages.
Ensure proper functioning of valve systems through scheduled exercising, inspections, and repairs.
Troubleshoot complex valve malfunctions and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Work Coordination & Team Supervision
Lead and assign tasks to valve technicians and maintenance staff; monitor performance and productivity.
Coordinate with maintenance planners to schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Support staffing decisions, timekeeping, and workload balancing across multiple sites or shifts.
Asset & Data Management
Ensure accurate completion of work orders and valve asset updates in the CMMS (e.g., Maximo, Cityworks).
Assist in maintaining a complete valve inventory with condition data and inspection records.
Use performance data to identify recurring issues and inform asset replacement strategies.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce compliance with safety policies (e.g., LOTO, confined space, hot work) and promote safe work practices.
Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct field safety observations and lead toolbox talks or safety briefings.
Technical Support & Training
Provide on-the-job training to junior technicians on valve operation, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
Collaborate with engineering and reliability teams to support failure analysis and upgrades.
Support implementation of new technologies such as automated valves or condition monitoring sensors.
Supervision of valve maintenance operations

Education:
High school diploma or GED (required); technical diploma or certification in mechanical systems, water treatment, or industrial maintenance preferred
Experience:
5–8 years of experience in valve maintenance or mechanical systems, including 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role
Experience in municipal water/wastewater treatment or industrial process environments preferred
Skills:
Strong working knowledge of valve types, actuator systems, and related components
Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and interpreting P&IDs
Familiarity with CMMS systems and basic maintenance planning
Excellent leadership, communication, and team coordination skills
