We are seeking a hands-on and motivated Junior Valve Maintenance Supervisor to support the day-to-day inspection, repair, and servicing of valve systems at water treatment facilities. This entry-level supervisory role is ideal for a skilled technician or crew lead ready to take the next step in leadership, overseeing valve maintenance activities while ensuring safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.
Valve Maintenance Oversight
Supervise daily maintenance of valves including gate, butterfly, check, air release, and control valves.
Coordinate valve inspections, lubrication, exercising, and minor repairs.
Assist in troubleshooting valve-related issues with mechanics and technicians.
Team Support & Leadership
Provide guidance and task direction to maintenance crews and valve technicians.
Train junior team members on valve maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
Monitor work quality and help ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
Scheduling & Work Orders
Work with maintenance planners to schedule preventive and corrective valve maintenance.
Assist in generating and closing work orders within the CMMS system.
Track parts, tools, and equipment needed for valve maintenance jobs.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure safe work practices are followed, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and PPE usage.
Support reporting of incidents or near-misses and help reinforce safety culture.
Ensure valve work meets utility standards and relevant mechanical codes.
Documentation & Communication
Document maintenance activities, asset conditions, and parts used.
Communicate with plant operators, engineers, and supervisors about valve issues and work progress.
Participate in toolbox talks and maintenance meetings.

Education:
High school diploma or GED (required)
Technical training or certification in mechanical maintenance or industrial systems (preferred)
Experience:
3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or valve servicing, ideally in water or industrial environments
Prior experience as a valve technician, crew lead, or senior mechanic
Skills:
Familiarity with various valve types and maintenance procedures
Ability to read mechanical drawings and P&IDs
Basic knowledge of CMMS (e.g., Cityworks, Maximo) and safety protocols
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
