We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Senior Valve Maintenance Supervisor to lead all aspects of valve maintenance within a thermal or combined-cycle power plant. This role is responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of valve systems—ensuring their reliability, safety, and performance through well-planned maintenance strategies, team leadership, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, supervisory experience, and a proactive approach to equipment reliability and plant availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Maintenance Management
Develop and implement short- and long-term maintenance strategies for all plant valve systems, including isolation, control, pressure relief, and safety valves.
Plan and execute comprehensive valve maintenance during routine operations and major turnarounds.
Ensure alignment of maintenance programs with OEM specifications, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles, and plant performance targets.
Supervision & Leadership
Lead and mentor a team of valve technicians, fitters, and junior supervisors across multiple shifts or units.
Assign workloads, monitor task execution, and ensure completion to defined quality, safety, and time standards.
Build team competencies through technical training, cross-functional collaboration, and performance reviews.
Technical Oversight
Diagnose complex valve failures and performance issues; recommend and oversee corrective measures or retrofits.
Review valve sizing, selection, and replacement requirements based on operational needs and failure history.
Oversee actuator diagnostics, positioner calibration, and valve control system interfacing with plant DCS.
Shutdown/Outage Execution
Lead the valve maintenance scope during shutdowns and major overhauls, including resource planning, contractor coordination, quality control, and reporting.
Validate valve test results (e.g., pressure testing, stroke timing, leak testing), and ensure documentation is updated and audit-ready.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work, and other plant safety procedures.
Conduct job safety analysis (JSA), risk assessments, and incident reviews within the valve maintenance domain.
Ensure valve maintenance practices meet ASME, API, ISA, and other applicable codes.
Inventory & Budget Oversight
Monitor critical spare parts inventory; lead procurement planning for valves, gaskets, fasteners, and consumables.
Optimize maintenance costs and reliability trade-offs; contribute to annual maintenance budgeting and CAPEX planning.
Liaise with OEMs, suppliers, and contractors for technical support, parts supply, and third-party servicing.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain and audit valve history records, test certificates, and inspection logs in the CMMS.
Generate reports on valve performance, recurring issues, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and improvement actions.
Support reliability and continuous improvement initiatives related to valve systems.
Key Focus Areas:
End-to-end management of valve systems reliability and maintenance
Supervision and skill development of maintenance teams
Technical leadership during outages and shutdowns
Safety, compliance, and documentation excellence
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Engineering, or a related field
Certifications:
Valve OEM training certificates, API 570, or similar qualifications are advantageous
Safety certifications (e.g., LOTO, confined space, permit-to-work) preferred
Experience:
8+ years of valve maintenance experience, including at least 3–4 years in a supervisory or lead role
Strong background in power generation, industrial utility systems, or process plants with high-pressure steam systems
Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge of valve types (gate, globe, ball, control, pressure relief) and actuators (manual, pneumatic, electric, hydraulic)
Proficient in interpreting valve specs, torque charts, P&IDs, and technical manuals
Experience with computerized maintenance systems (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo) and diagnostic tools
Leadership & Communication:
Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills
Ability to guide multi-skill teams and manage third-party contractors
Proven track record in reliability improvement and cost control
