We are looking for a skilled and proactive Valve Maintenance Supervisor with mid-level experience to oversee and coordinate valve maintenance activities within a thermal or combined-cycle power plant. This role is responsible for supervising routine and corrective maintenance of valves to ensure plant reliability, safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, experience working with various valve types, and the ability to manage a small team of technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Supervision
Plan, supervise, and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on isolation, control, safety relief, and pressure-regulating valves.
Coordinate valve overhauls during scheduled shutdowns and outages in compliance with OEM and industry standards.
Conduct valve inspections, leak tests, stroke checks, and lapping activities, ensuring proper functionality and sealing performance.
Team Management
Lead a team of valve technicians and fitters; assign daily tasks and ensure adherence to maintenance schedules.
Mentor junior staff in safe and efficient maintenance practices.
Coordinate with mechanical, instrumentation, and operations departments to schedule valve servicing with minimal plant disruption.
Technical Oversight
Review and interpret valve datasheets, P&IDs, maintenance records, and technical specifications.
Troubleshoot valve performance issues and coordinate with engineers for technical resolution.
Ensure proper documentation of valve history, calibration, torque settings, and servicing procedures.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all maintenance activities follow plant safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and pressure system isolation protocols.
Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and support audit compliance.
Verify that work is carried out using correct PPE, tools, and lifting gear.
Inventory & Reporting
Monitor the inventory of critical valve spares, consumables, and gaskets; raise procurement requests as needed.
Maintain accurate records of valve maintenance activities, failure modes, test results, and certifications.
Prepare shift reports, root cause analysis documentation, and contribute to reliability improvement plans.

Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Power Plant Technology
Experience:
4–7 years of experience in mechanical or valve maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
Experience in thermal/combined-cycle power plants or large industrial utilities
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of various valves (gate, globe, ball, butterfly, control, safety) and actuators (pneumatic, hydraulic, electric)
Ability to interpret P&IDs, technical manuals, and isometric drawings
Proficient in valve troubleshooting, reconditioning, and testing procedures
Familiar with relevant codes (API, ASME, ISA) and valve test certifications
