The Senior Valve Leak Tester & Inspector is a subject matter expert responsible for leading leak testing and inspection programs for sanitary valves across multiple production sites. This role ensures the highest standards of valve integrity, regulatory compliance, and process reliability through advanced testing methodologies, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. The senior specialist mentors junior staff, collaborates with engineering and maintenance leadership, and drives innovation in valve leak detection techniques and equipment.
Lead and manage comprehensive valve leak testing programs, including pneumatic, hydraulic, vacuum, and advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
Develop, validate, and standardize leak testing protocols and inspection procedures to ensure consistent application across all manufacturing sites.
Evaluate valve performance data to identify systemic issues, guide design improvements, and reduce process downtime.
Perform in-depth root cause investigations of valve leaks, seal failures, and related equipment malfunctions.
Recommend corrective and preventive actions, including design modifications, maintenance strategies, and supplier improvements.
Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and quality assurance teams on valve qualification, new product introductions, and validation studies.
Provide technical training and guidance to leak testers, inspectors, and maintenance personnel.
Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement by sharing best practices and lessons learned.
Partner with regulatory affairs to prepare for audits and inspections, ensuring documentation and processes meet FDA, USDA, 3-A Sanitary Standards, and other applicable regulations.
Lead cross-functional teams in valve reliability projects and preventive maintenance programs.
Evaluate and implement new leak detection technologies and instrumentation to improve testing accuracy and efficiency.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical field
Advanced certifications in non-destructive testing (NDT), quality management, or sanitary design preferred
7–10+ years of experience in valve leak testing, inspection, or quality assurance within food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or related process industries
Demonstrated leadership in developing and managing valve testing programs and teams
Expertise in multiple leak testing techniques, including advanced NDT methods (helium mass spectrometry, ultrasonic testing, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to lead root cause investigations
In-depth knowledge of sanitary valve designs, hygienic standards, and regulatory requirements
