Job Title: Valve Integrity Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Valve Integrity Engineer to lead the valve integrity program, ensuring the safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of valve assets across operations. This role involves strategic oversight of valve integrity assessments, advanced risk management, technical leadership, and mentoring of engineering teams. The senior engineer will drive continuous improvement initiatives, engage with stakeholders at all levels, and influence asset integrity policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Program Management

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of valve integrity management programs.

  • Oversee comprehensive integrity assessments, including fitness-for-service evaluations, failure investigations, and risk-based inspection planning.

  • Ensure compliance with API, ASME, and other relevant standards, and align programs with regulatory requirements.

Technical Expertise & Problem Solving

  • Provide expert technical guidance on valve design, degradation mechanisms, inspection techniques, and repair/replacement strategies.

  • Lead root cause analysis and failure investigations for critical valve issues.

  • Approve complex engineering assessments and technical documentation related to valve integrity.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Act as the primary technical interface for valve integrity matters with operations, maintenance, engineering, and external vendors.

  • Present technical findings and recommendations to senior management and regulatory bodies.

  • Lead cross-functional teams during shutdowns, turnarounds, and audit preparations involving valve assets.

Mentorship & Team Development

  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers to build internal capabilities in valve integrity.

  • Drive knowledge-sharing and training programs to enhance team expertise and performance.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify and implement best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches to improve valve integrity and asset reliability.

  • Lead initiatives to reduce downtime, extend asset life, and optimize maintenance costs.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in valve integrity engineering or asset integrity management.

  • Extensive knowledge of valve types, integrity assessment methods, API (6D, 570, 653), ASME codes, and industry best practices.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced expertise in risk-based inspection (RBI), fitness-for-service assessments, FEA, and NDT methods.

  • Proficient with valve integrity management software and data analysis tools.

  • Strong leadership and project management skills.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of influencing senior leadership.

  • Strong analytical mindset and strategic thinking.

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.

Preferred Certifications:

  • API 570, API 653, or other relevant integrity certifications.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent.

  • Certifications in RBI, fitness-for-service, or related fields.
