We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Valve Inspector – QA/QC to lead inspection and quality control activities for a range of industrial valves. This role involves supervising inspection teams, ensuring compliance with international standards, interfacing with clients and third-party inspectors, and managing documentation and reporting for QA/QC processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in valve manufacturing, testing, and certification within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors.
Lead inspections of safety, ball, gate, globe, check, control, and relief valves.
Oversee hydrostatic, pneumatic, and seat leakage testing per API 598, API 6D, and other relevant standards.
Identify, document, and drive resolution of quality issues and non-conformities.
Ensure full compliance with applicable standards (API, ASME, ANSI, ISO, NACE, BS, DIN).
Interpret complex engineering drawings, datasheets, and customer technical specifications.
Validate valve certifications, mill test certificates (MTCs), and material traceability.
Supervise and mentor junior and mid-level QA/QC inspectors.
Coordinate with production, engineering, clients, and third-party inspection agencies (TPIAs).
Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), client audits, and technical clarification meetings.
Review and approve inspection reports, ITPs, QCPs, and test certificates.
Manage QA/QC documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 and project-specific quality requirements.
Prepare and review NCRs, CARs/PARs, and ensure timely closure with effective solutions.
Identify and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and drive continual improvement actions.
Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards during inspection activities.
Perform final inspection and sign-off of valves prior to dispatch or client handover.
Ensure calibration of all test benches, gauges, and measuring instruments.
Conduct vendor audits and internal quality assessments as required.
Represent the QA/QC department during project quality meetings and reviews.
Maintain high standards of technical accuracy, consistency, and professionalism.
Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in valve inspection, QA/QC, or quality engineering.
In-depth knowledge of valve design, materials, pressure classes, and industrial standards.
Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, ISO 9001 QMS, and inspection workflows.
API 598 / API 6D / API 600 / API 6FA knowledge or training
ASNT Level II or III in PT, UT, MT, RT (as applicable)
CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent welding inspection certification
ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor (preferred)
Primarily workshop-based with periodic site visits and client interface.
Must be open to shift work, overtime, and travel for inspections or audits.
Strict adherence to safety standards and use of PPE.
