The Senior Valve Design Supervisor leads the design and development of industrial valves, ensuring products meet global standards, customer specifications, and manufacturing requirements. The role involves managing a team of engineers and drafters, guiding technical decisions, overseeing drawing releases, and driving innovation and continuous improvement in valve product engineering.
Lead the end-to-end design and development of valves (e.g., gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly, control, safety, and pressure relief valves).
Supervise the preparation and approval of detailed drawings, 3D models, assembly layouts, and engineering documentation.
Ensure designs meet applicable standards: API, ASME, ISO, ANSI, PED, IBR, and customer-specific codes.
Guide the engineering team on DFM/DFA principles, material selection, tolerance stack-up, sealing mechanisms, and critical component design.
Oversee and verify design calculations for pressure ratings, flow coefficients (Cv), wall thickness, and spring selection (for control/safety valves).
Collaborate with testing, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams during prototype development, type testing, and production ramp-up.
Lead design reviews and provide technical direction to resolve complex design challenges and customer-specific adaptations.
Manage engineering change processes (ECR/ECN), revision control, and product data management (PDM/PLM).
Drive value engineering, cost optimization, and localization initiatives without compromising performance or safety.
Mentor and train junior and mid-level design staff to build technical capability and ensure adherence to design best practices.
