The Junior Valve Design Engineer supports the design and development of industrial valve products in compliance with ASME, API, and ANSI standards. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this role is responsible for creating 3D models, preparing engineering drawings, performing basic calculations, and assisting with prototype validation. The engineer will contribute to new product development, engineering change activities, and documentation processes while gaining hands-on experience in valve mechanics, materials, and industry-specific standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the design of valve components such as bodies, discs, stems, and seats using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo).
Support drafting of detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings with proper GD&T.
Perform basic engineering calculations (stress, pressure ratings, tolerances) aligned with ASME/API standards.
Participate in design reviews and support the development of BOMs, part numbers, and engineering documents.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Manufacturing, and Testing) to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
Assist in validation and testing activities including fixture setup and data collection.
Support engineering change requests (ECRs), design modifications, and product documentation updates.
Learn and apply relevant codes such as ASME B16.34, API 6D, and ANSI specifications.
Key Focus Areas:
Entry-level valve design and CAD modeling
Learning and applying ASME/API/ANSI codes
Drafting and documentation support
Basic engineering calculations and material selection
Cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing and testing
Participation in prototype and validation testing
Growth and development in valve product engineering
Qualifications & Skills:
