We are looking for a Junior Valve Design Engineer to assist in the design, development, and testing of industrial valves in compliance with international standards such as ASME B16.34, API 6D, API 600, API 598, and others. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior engineers to develop technical expertise in the structural and functional design of valves for use in oil & gas, petrochemical, power, water, and process industries.
Support the design of valves (gate, globe, ball, butterfly, and check valves) in accordance with ASME and API standards.
Create and revise 2D/3D models using CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar).
Assist in designing internal components including stems, seats, seals, trim, and pressure-containing bodies.
Perform dimensional checks and geometric tolerancing (GD&T) for manufacturing feasibility.
Assist in basic engineering calculations such as wall thickness, pressure ratings, flow area (Cv), and torque requirements.
Support stress analysis of components using hand calculations or FEA tools under guidance.
Participate in material selection activities based on pressure, temperature, corrosion resistance, and service life.
Understand and apply design requirements from ASME B16.34, API 600/6D/598/607, MSS-SP standards, ISO 5208, and PED.
Prepare valve datasheets, Bill of Materials (BOM), part drawings, and design reports.
Maintain document control for drawings, calculations, revisions, and change requests.
Assist in prototyping, assembly, and validation testing of new valve designs.
Support hydrostatic testing, seat leakage, torque testing, fire testing (API 607), and life-cycle testing.
Record test data, analyze deviations, and help implement design improvements.
Work with manufacturing, procurement, QA/QC, and sales teams to ensure design practicality and commercial viability.
Participate in design reviews and learn to incorporate feedback from production, service, and customer experience.
Attend internal workshops and training sessions on valve engineering, codes & standards, and mechanical design principles.
Keep up-to-date with new industry standards, emerging materials, and actuator technologies.
