We are seeking an experienced Senior Valve Design Engineer to lead the design and development of industrial valves compliant with API 6D, API 6A, and ASME B16.34 standards. This senior role involves overseeing complex valve design projects, providing technical leadership, ensuring compliance with industry codes, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver innovative, reliable, and safe valve solutions for demanding applications.
Lead end-to-end valve design projects, including development, review, and approval of detailed drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation.
Provide expert guidance on valve design principles, material selection, stress analysis, and manufacturing processes.
Ensure all designs comply with API 6D, API 6A, ASME B16.34, and other relevant standards and customer requirements.
Review and enforce adherence to engineering codes, safety standards, and quality specifications.
Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analyses to enhance valve reliability and safety.
Oversee resolution of design non-conformances and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate closely with project managers, manufacturing, procurement, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
Provide technical support during fabrication, testing, and commissioning phases.
Lead vendor evaluations, design audits, and supplier quality assessments.
Drive innovation in valve design by integrating new materials, technologies, and manufacturing techniques.
Develop and improve design standards, procedures, and best practices within the engineering team.
Mentor and train junior and mid-level engineers to build technical expertise in valve design and standards compliance.
Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and promote professional development within the team.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
8–15+ years of progressive experience in valve design engineering with in-depth knowledge of API 6D, API 6A, and ASME B16.34 standards.
Proven track record leading complex valve design projects and technical teams.
Advanced proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
Expertise in stress analysis, FEA, valve sizing, material selection, and pressure containment design.
Comprehensive understanding of valve manufacturing, testing, and quality control processes.
Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive project outcomes.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
API 6D, API 6A, or ASME code-related certifications.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is an advantage
