We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Valve Design Engineer to support the design and development of industrial valves in accordance with API 6D, API 6A, and ASME B16.34 standards. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in valve design, drawing preparation, and engineering documentation, working under the guidance of senior engineers. The role is ideal for candidates aiming to build a strong foundation in valve engineering and industry standards.
Assist in the preparation of detailed valve design drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
Support the development of valve component specifications, material selections, and dimensional requirements based on API 6D, 6A, and ASME B16.34 standards.
Help in creating technical documentation, including design calculations, bill of materials (BOM), and technical datasheets.
Learn and apply relevant industry standards (API 6D, API 6A, ASME B16.34) in valve design processes.
Assist in reviewing design compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Support design reviews and participate in technical discussions with senior engineers.
Work closely with manufacturing, quality assurance, and procurement teams to ensure design feasibility and compliance.
Support senior engineers in resolving design issues and incorporating feedback from testing and inspections.
Participate in design change management and document control activities.
Build knowledge of valve types, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Stay updated with industry best practices, standards revisions, and emerging valve technologies.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
0–2 years of experience in valve design, mechanical design, or related engineering roles (internships or co-op experience beneficial).
Basic understanding of valve functions, components, and design principles.
Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
Basic knowledge of API 6D, API 6A, and ASME B16.34 standards (training can be provided).
Good technical writing and documentation skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Willingness to learn and take direction from senior engineers.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Any coursework or certification related to valve engineering, mechanical design, or standards is an advantage.
